Snowdrop Planting at Westonbirt

and did you know that if you plant one snowdop, the following year there will be 2, then 4, then 8, then 16, then 32, then 64, then 128, then 256, then 512, so that  in 10 years there will be

Over a 1000 flowers

Sunday March 21st 2pm-5pm( Open to all)

Garden Entry £4 (children £3)

Snowdrops for sale ,with a chance to purchase named snowdrops,

John Sales will be giving a lighthearted talk about snowdrop collecting.

'An Introduction to Galanthomania' in the beautifully restored library at 3pm.

£10 for the lecture and entry to the garden. Teas in the Camellia House.

Wednesday 17th March 

Westonbirt School and the Holford Trust, are inviting 5 local primary schools on 17th March for a day of learning about snowdrops and each school will be given bulbs to plant around their own tree, so that in ten years time the same children can come back to see what an amazing display they have made from one bulb each.

They will all get bulbs to take back to plant at school and we hope they will come back to count their flowers next year. Children will also be given hot drinks and work packs to take home at no cost to the schools.

THE HOLFORDS OF WESTONBIRT TRUST HAS TAKEN A LONG LEASE OF THE GARDENS IN ORDER TO RESTORE THEM TO THEIR FORMER GLORY.

WORK HAS ALREADY STARTED ON THE ITALIAN GARDENS.
